The renovation won the "Facade of the Year" award in 2025. The Piarist monks played a key role in Vác’s rebirth following the Turkish occupation. They built their school and church in the city center and have been serving the city ever since. The school buildings have been renovated and restored in small steps over the decades, a process in which our office has also played a role for decades. Most recently, the facades were beautified, much to the delight of the students and the city. The concept is based on utilizing the color palette of Vác’s Konstanin Square and seeking harmony while avoiding monotony. The facade’s new colors blend seamlessly with the stonework of the adjacent cathedral, while the artificial stone and stone surfaces were simply cleaned and repaired to preserve their original material and patina.
